Hermit.

A dolla make me holla honey boo boo.

Yeah, I went there.

So the weather here in Texas is GORGEOUS today!!
I'm talking 70 and sunny... who can stay anywhere near being a grump with this kinda weather?! Not me.

As you may or may not have been able to tell, I have been in a hermit kinda mood these past few weeks.
I mean full on hermit too... just me and husband and dogs kinda hermit.
Well, this weather hasn't exactly changed that perspective, but it has made me think that MAYBE the best way to get out of it, is to see people. It could work.
However, the idea of seeing people and being social, irks me a little. Do I sound like a nutzo?!
Normally I'm a pretty social person, I swear.
UH wants to BBQ, which means people over... cause we can't eat all that BBQ ourselves, but I'm stressing over the idea of having people over.

No worries though, I'm quite sure I will survive whatever it is we choose to do this weekend.

It is slightly depressing that I am thinking about the weekend already and it's only Tuesday.... bleh.

Friday, February 10, 2012

a lot on my mind.

It's Friday... I realize that.

Which means I should be jumping with joy since I'm off this weekend.

...and I will be... as soon as I get off of work.

I've had a lot on my mind lately.
Have you ever been in a position where you are highly valued and yet not appreciated?
For example, "Oh mah gosh you are the best _____ we have, your amazing"
and yet, you still get the filling you are utterly replaceable.

And in the above said position you're stuck. You've gone as far as you can go, and honestly you don't want to go any higher... mainly because you disagree with the position and it's mission statement or mindset?

Does that make any sense? Am I being to vague... *sigh.

Moving on.
Tomorrow morning (bright and early) the hubby and I will be headed out to east Texas. We will meet up with my awesome Aunt and Uncle. And we will four wheel. And drink beer. And forget about everything, except nature, 4 wheeling, and drinking beer.

So for now, I am day dreaming about my mud princess (see below) for the next 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Can't. Wait.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Call me Grumps, but not all is lost.

I am willing to go out on a limb today and let you all know, it hasn't been a great day.

I take that back, today didn't do anything to offend me, I have had the misfortune of bad news that makes for a grumpy Rachel.

Surprised I get grumpy?? You shouldn't be, it's not that rare. :)

Let me start by telling you I had an amazeballs weekend.

One of those weekends that is great because you do a whole lot of nothing.

Except Saturday.... Saturday, we went 4 wheeling!!!! It was a little chilly, but turned out to be a great trip! We were thinking about selling our 4 wheelers because, quite honestly, we haven't been using them very much. We decided if we didn't go this weekend, than we had no excuse to keep the monsters sitting in our garage...

Of course I forgot my camera, so I have no pictures of the actually 4 wheeling part. I do have a pre-four wheeling picture though... your welcome! :)

Notice the big Green Machine behind me? That's Hubs' bike.

Then Sunday we did lots of the following

That would be Chloe and me cuddled up on the couch watching movies with the husband. I also finally got around to painting my nails!! Notice my nails in above picture, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, if you were wondering.

Want to see what is helping assist me in my grumpy mood today?

I just paid this sucker:

Yep, that's a red light ticket. A $75.00 red light ticket. A dolla make me holla honey boo boo, and this girl isn't happy about paying this ticket.

I don't actually remember doing running this light, and I'm sure I didn't do it on purpose. Everyone keeps telling me not to pay it, since it isn't an actual criminal offense. It hits your credit... unless you write them explaining your aren't paying it and why and blah blah blah.

I just forked over the money. I'm sure I did it, but I'm sure it was for a reason... ya know, like I couldn't safely STOP in TIME, SAFELY.

The other reason I am in a grumpy mood, I don't think I can really delve into yet. I also want to think it over for a few days, so that I know I'm not being overly emotional or anything like that. So I'm sure you will be hearing from me in a few days about said grump inducer. :)

Side note, is it petty for me to "unlike" a page on facebook? Haha Seriously thinking about it though, even if it may be considered petty.

The Power of Love

Don't worry, this isn't going to be a mushy post about actual love. Rather, I thought I'd tell you what happened this past weekend!!!

This girl went to see Huey Lewis and the News at Billy Bob's with UH and our best friends.

If you don't know who Huey Lewis is, I'll forgive you. Chances are you know his music, even if you can't place the band. It may also help to mention that he hit his prime in the music industry in the 80's....

We got some great pictures though and even a video or two!!

The new friend me made that we asked to take our picture, decided to get a little creative. Hence, the lean.

 Mags and Me!

UH and me with some Huey action in the background.

I also tamed a bear.... what?!

Billy Bob's is a huge honky tonk bar in Fort Worth. So big they have several "stages", pool tables, rooms, gift shops, food. It's almost like an amusement park.
I will confess I totally asked if they had a mechanical bull... cause I wanted to give it a try. Turns out they only have real ones to ride... uhh PASS!

It's here and then it's gone.

I guess it's that time again... You know when you start thinking about your glorious weekend... so I can share it with yall, of course.... Then remember that you have to work this weekend. Bitter sweet, but at least I had last weekend off, right?!

Friday I got my workout in after work, so I started the weekend off right. Came home at dinner, then watched a little bit of t.v.

Saturday we finally got to sleep in. I swear it's the first time since our honeymoon. Usually the pup stats whining at some point early in the morning and we are up by 8 am or 9 am, but we got to sleep in until 10am! Then we got moving, dressed, and headed to my aunt and uncles... which is where my mom and step dad had gone off to Friday morning. We had a great time. I was soo mad that I forget every single one of my cameras. I took all of 3 shots on my phone. We actually brought the dogs with us, so we all sat out by their pond and let the dogs swim for hours. Then we drove around my uncles new mule and let the dogs chase behind us... to make sure they were worn out and all.

Then we headed to the porch and played a few hands of hearts, which I won, and headed inside for some pool and dinner.

I'm pretty sure the following pictures were taken before dinner and during pool, but at some point the crazy cajun uncle busted out the wig! haha

Sorry about the blurriness, they wouldn't stop moving!!

My crazy cajun uncle taking his shot!

It was a blast, just trust me!!

Sunday we had a nice day at the house. I washed both dogs, they stunk... UH watched his Patriots game. I've decided to catch up on all of my reality shows while he watches football, it works out pretty well so far. I think he is trying to cut back on all the non-Patriots games and give me extra attention, so I don't feel forgotten about... so sweet.

I actually had Monday off too, so we ran some errands and got some things done. Including all of like 7 loads of laundry. Bleck.

Finally, a 4th Recap.

I have finally uploaded all 200 pictures taken over the 4th of July weekend and am ready to share. I'm sure a lot of you weren't or aren't exactly sure why I have titles my blog Champagne and MUD... here is your explanation, please don't like me less simply for knowing how to get a lil dirty!! :)

This is the cleanest I was alllll weekend, believe it.

This is Texas, can you believe we have views like this?!

Like my hip mud socks?! :)

 UF found a puddle!

Pre mud hole, semi clean Rachel...

Mid hole: Definitely NO longer even semi clean.

Don't worry, we went and rinsed off in the creek shortly after. We also spotted a copperhead snake swimming in that very creek and I was the first to run screaming to shore. My Cajun uncle and a friend of his decided to go after the copperhead and beat it with a stick. Copperheads are dangerous if you didn't know... it was pretty funny.
That's what I did over the 4th of July weekend. Camped and four wheeled in 100+ degree weather, yes we are crazies! :)

Let's get this done.

Hello loves!

I don't know about yall, but I accomplished pretty much nothing this weekend. Or at least, nothing at the house.

We had a really busy weekend and my house is a complete wreck as a result. I'm sorry house, I will attempt to clean you tonight, don't be mad.

Saturday morning I went and took an .5 hour ab class followed by an 1.5 Zumba class... as you can imagine, I was worn out.

Then UF and I had to take a trip out to the Galleria mall in Dallas. If you have been there you know it's huge and full of fabulous designer things I can't have. I remember why I never ever go to that mall, it gives me the gimmies! I got over it though, don't worry. I was able to exchange some recently purchased clothing that is now too big. That worked out nicely.

Then it was off to yet another make-up trial. I did take pictures so I may try and share.

As soon as I got home UF and were off to say my Uncle from the doctors office and we went to see my Aunt and Uncles new home. It is beyond gorgeous. I can't describe it, you probably wouldn't get it anyways... you just have to see it. They were renting an excavator to dig out their pond and UF and I were super excited to get in that bouncy seat and give it a try. It was a blast! Excavators are way more fun that you may assume. If you don't know what an excavator is, don't worry, I will show you!

We ended up hanging out with the Aunt and Uncle for quite a while and then it was back home and straight to bed for us.

Sunday we got up early to help some friends out and then it was lunch and off the the lake where we enjoyed a few hours on their boat.

We got home in time to eat and head to bed and now, it's Monday! I will share pics soon! Promise!! Until then:

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

It's Tuesday and that was my weekend.

I was MIA on Monday I know... the thing is... I'm either off on Monday and playing or I am working on Monday and trying to get back into the groove. Mondays are always hectic right?

Weekend Recap time?

I don't know where to begin, because I don't remember my weekend. No, not because it was THAT good, but because it was THAT short.

I worked Saturday and it was slow enough for me to make my employees take Cosmo quizzes. This is a new low for me. It means there was literally NOTHING else to do.

Sunday was better. We got a ton of stuff done around the house and crossed off somethings on the wedding "to-do" list. Then we went to a friends house for a BBQ, which was pretty enjoyable. It was nice to see our friends and relax a bit. Then it was home, movie, bed, and Monday morning.

I've got a new, unrelated to wedding, task to figure out. I want to figure out how to put my Pinterest pics up. I will, I know I only have to look at it probably, but I'm working on it.

In wedding news: We packed up 4 boxes full of wedding stuff and UF put shipping labels on those babies and is taking them to UPS, RELIEF! UF has also taken over the guest list thank goodness. Things are getting done and my list is getting shorter, feels good. I can't wait to be married...cross that out, rather... I can't wait to marry my husband! :)

Hope yalls weekend was longer!

Leftover Weekend

I know I left yall hanging, ready to hear about the rest of the weekend?!

Well Sunday we had some friends and family over and had a nice little BBQ. It was so much fun having everyone over and seeing everyone, and UF can smoke a mean mean rib.

As I'm cleaning (before people come over) I pull out the vacuum and UF says, "Oh good, you're vacuuming, I made a mess." Now insert big grin... like this one...

No warning bells... yet.
No warning bells were sounding. I think, Hmm that's ok, I made a tiny mess with some powdered sugar when I was baking earlier. When I got around the corner to where he has been standing... this awaited me:

That would be almost an entire bottle of rub on the floor.
Of course I look up, and the counter looks like this:

Yep, all by himself. :)
I'm pretty sure he should be thanking his lucky stars that I think he is so cute and that we got to eat these babies:

They were delish, your mouth is watering right now isn't it?!
It was a great weekend and we were so glad to get so see our family and friends. Oh, did I mention Jake got busted for licking the grill post use?!

Busted AND caught on camera. He's lucky he's super cute too! :)

See, what ha happened wuz...

Hi loves, sorry I was absent yesterday. It is fair to say it was a whirlwind of a weekend.

Lets see, Saturday morning we had an appointment with our jeweler to pick out UF's wedding band!!! This was not as easy as it sounds. In fact, we left the jeweler with my bands good and UF's not really happy about what he "picked". He really wants a cool metal and the jeweler highly discouraged them. I explained that he should get something he likes, not the jeweler. So we left the jeweler and ended up at the jewelry stores par-oozing. Luckily we found two he liked, took pics, emailed them to the jeweler and he said he could do them for $200 cheaper... that is why you go to a jeweler friends!

After we find some rings for UF we stopped for lunch at Gloria's. It was to hot to sit on the outdoor patio, but we had a great lunch inside. Then I was off to.... my make-up trial!!

I wasn't thrilled with my make-up trial and I probably should have played it smarter. I had an appointment with M.A.C. and went in saying I wanted more dramatic make-up that accented my eyes. Bad idea. Why? I don't wear heavy make-up, so I ended up looking a little alien. I am going to go back and ask for a more natural look. To make sure I was right though, I had UF take some pics outdoors and indoors to see how it photographed. I think they made me look oriental... weird right?

Indoor Picture: The foundation is sooo heavy.

Outdoors Direct Sunlight: Uhh, where did my eyeballs go???

Shade: Definitely the best place for the make-up.

Last One, Promise.
I promise I'm not full of myself, just wanted to share the results. I don't think are as horrific as I originally thought, but not for my wedding day, right?

I will save the rest of the weekend for another day! :)

Take that China!

I guess I can tell yall now that UF is back, that UF is back from China!! Woohoo

I know I can trust yall, but UF had a point about not plastering that he was in China for 17 days and I wasn't all over the interweb. It sounded like good safe advice, so I took. The good news is, he's back!! 17 days is a long time. I miss him a lot in the beginning, start to adjust to him being gone, then have to readjust when he gets back... which, I'm more than happy to do of course! Normally he goes for 14 day spans, but this time he went for 17, one of the longer trips. Seventeen days probably doesn't sound like much of a difference from fourteen, but take my word, it's a huge difference. It could be a whole extra weekend!! The added bonus to me keeping this little safety secret... you didn't have to hear me whine about missing him!

I guess a weekend re-cap is in order. Saturday I cleaned ALL day long and washed every dirty linen and piece of clothing or rug I could find. Then I went to pick UF up at the airport Sunday morning at FIVE AM! I told him I was just going to let him wait for me and pick him up at 7 AM or something, but he wasn't a big fan of that idea. We spent the rest of our Sunday pigging out (cheat day) and snuggling on the couch. I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday.

Monday we had some errands to run. We had to pick up his vehicle from a friend, ran to IKEA to get some wedding decor, and stopped at the pool for a couple hours. It is fair to say my top half is pretty burnt to a crisp. I put on tanning lotion rather than sunscreen... probably not the brightest thing to do considering it was my first venture into the sun ALL year. Lesson learned.

I had to pop the "perfect" bubble and go to work today, but it was a great 3 day weekend... who ever wants to go back to work after a 3 day weekend though?!

I can't believe tomorrow is June, where does it go?!?!
